Exhibition
Natura
The proposal to participate in the Natura exhibition came just before the pandemic. Since January, the world has been following the first cases of COVID-19 in China, followed by Southwest Asia, spreading to the rest of the planet. We’ve all been forced to suddenly slow down the fast pace we were used to and must speed it up more and more.

This confinement that the world has been forced into has made life different. This pandemic has forced us to stop, to stop planning, to live and think in the moment.
I watched these magnificent beings of nature closely and carefully for a few hours a day, following a complete silkworm cycle that coincided with the time of confinement. In this installation, I represent the work of the animals that provide us with the delicate raw material, silk thread.
We have been confined to our cocoons, in metamorphosis. We are no longer the same.
In my cocoon, watching them in those moments was a respite from my persistent anxiety. Nature has this effect: not only does it contain everything we need, all the substance we need to evolve, but it is also powerful, soothing. Without it, we are nothing.
