Time to Re.Create

In Rita’s work, the influences and reflections of the places that have been her daily life over the years are evident from an early age. Her first canvases show Macau and its proximity to China, using characteristic features that are easily detectable. On the other hand, they leave us with something more intimate. An adolescence in the midst of two distant cultures interacting in a small space.

The training in Sculpture and the passage through African soil, faster in Morocco and longer in Mozambique, seem to outline a new relationship with painting. Maturity or not, Revolution, no doubt. In the way of painting, which assimilated synthesism, simplified strokes and the projection of sculpture. In the way he uses different materials and works with color, in the tranquility with which he portrays the harshness of reality. In a subtle and fantasized register, the criticism comes to us through provocation. The haze of a dream beyond reality remains. And the perception of a giant world around us, reachable and with many horizons to explore.
